In January 2015, the REO concept came to fruition when Andrew’s REO Speedwagon took third place at the 2015 ASBA National Championships.
What many people don’t realise, is that it was only the REO Speedwagons second time in the water! In addition to this, she was still undergoing initial tuning.
Achieving success in such a developmental stage was astounding. Likewise, it proved that the concept of a light boat with a smaller than normal rig and good power to weight ratio has great potential. But Andrew didn’t stop there, he went back to the drawing board to continue to innovate his design.
With an upgrade of her mast in 2016, the REO Speedwagon powered to 6 wins (out of nine races) at the 2017 ASBA Nationals. These wins were in a variety of sailing conditions proving the versatility of the REO design. At the close of competition, the REO team won the series by seven points.

Proving to be a race winning design, there’s been great interest in the REO Speedwagon. Andrew has now decided to bring the best people together to produce the best sports boat around in one design package.
